Adding a touch of rustic charm, the little berry basket, which saw heavy use last summer during peak raspberry season, now cradles fresh eggs from our own hens. I absolutely adore the challenge and creativity involved in mixing and matching items I already possess, discovering new harmonies and aesthetics with each seasonal refresh. It’s a rewarding way to keep decor fresh without constant new purchases.

The thrill of the hunt is undeniably part of the magic of thrifting, and this spring tablescape is brimming with examples of successful finds. Another relatively recent acquisition, the stunning gorgeous green pottery bowl, almost didn’t make it home with me. I discovered it last winter, and in the drab, often misleading lighting of the thrift store, its true beauty was initially obscured. (This one offers a somewhat similar aesthetic, equally captivating). It’s a common challenge: thrift store lighting often makes everything appear muted or oddly colored. However, once I brought the bowl closer to a large window, allowing natural light to illuminate it, I was captivated by the rich depth and subtle variations of its glaze. This experience serves as a valuable lesson for any thrifter: always try to assess pieces in natural light before making a final decision! You might be utterly surprised by the current state of my credenza, a surface typically dominated by my extensive collection of Iittala Festivo candle holders. For a delightful, albeit temporary, spring display, I decided to reunite my beloved vintage Strawberry Hill pottery Mama Bunny with her sweet Baby Bunnies. These charming ceramic rabbits, with their nostalgic appeal, instantly evoke the spirit of spring and Easter. They are beautifully complemented by a thrifted pale blue vintage West German pottery vase (similar styles available here), its subtle hue adding a soft touch of color. The speckled white pottery bowl (explore similar designs) is a more recent addition, a beautiful piece I acquired from a talented local potter last year. Together, these elements create a serene and heartwarming vignette, perfectly embodying the gentle renewal of spring.
